  9. Last  year  extremely many people left
  10. "the  scene"; including coders, mail &
  11. modem   traders,   sysops,  musicians,
  12. graphicians,    organizers,   editors,
  13. ansiartists   etc.    etc.   And  it`s
  14. always sad when people leave something
  15. they`re  a part of, for example a team
  16. or  group.   It`s  sad  for  those who
  17. leave  and for those who is left.  And
  18. "the  scene"  is  changing from day to
  19. day,  people  quit and new ones begin.
  20. Even  though  this  is  reality,  many
  21. people   stay   in  touch  with  their
  22. contacts  and  friends when they leave
  23. "the  scene".   This  is  one  of  the
  24. pleasures which come with "amigaing"!
  25. ¹
  26. Going  right  back to the beginning of
  27. "amigaing", people got contacts & real
  28. friends.   When  people  stop trading,
  29. they don`t automatically stop being in
  30. touch   with   people  they  have  had
  31. contact  with  from  the  beginning of
  32. time.
  33. ¾People  always  want to climb...  yes,
  34. get  a  better  position,  and  in  my
  35. situation  I  ended  up in IRIS.  It`s
  36. wonderful  when  mail  is crossing the
  37. border,  every  disk and postal order.
  38. I send letters to rich and poor, and I
  39. get  a  few  letters  to my door.  The
  40. letters  are  written  on  every  hue,
  41. including  the  nice  colour  of blue.
  42. This is FRIENDSHIP!!!
  43. ¶¹When   we   stop   our   trading,  but
  44. continues  as  penpals...   then  it`s
  45. friendship!   Because...  friends will
  46. be  friends!   When I stopped swapping
  47. back  in  the summer of `92 after 8-10
  48. years  of  computers,  I  held contact
  49. with  most  of  my former contacts and
  50. friends!   So  real  friendship  never
  51. dies!!!    But   some   of   the  real
  52. friendship  is  kind of disappering in
  53. this  "new"  scene...   more  and more
  54. swappers  don`t  write  letters,  they
  55. change to modem and just downloads the
  56. new  stuff.  What about friendship?  I
  57. know  that  some people leave messages
  58. for  their  contacts  on BBS, but they
  59. are  not  too  many.  And modemtraders
  60. often  write  a  two  line letter when
  61. they send stuff by mail.

  63. ¾What   the   world   needs   now  is
  64. international   friendship.   IRIS  is
  65. trying  to  do this by getting members
  66. from  the  whole  world.   We have had
  67. members from countries like Australia,
  68. Belgium,   Denmark,   England,   Faroe
  69. Islands,   Finland,  France,  Germany,
  70. Holland,   Hungary,   Jordan,  Norway,
  71. Sweden,  South  Africa, Syria, Turkey,
  72. United    Arab   Emirates   and   USA.
  73. Ofcourse   we`re   not   in   so  many
  74. countries today, but IRIS is trying to
  75. get   people   from   more   and  more
  76. countries  to  join  the  great  amiga
  77. scene.    And   we   try   to   create
  78. international      friendship,      so
  79. remember...    real   IRIS  friendship
  80. never   dies!    If  you  become  good
  81. friends  with  an  amiga freak, you`ve
  82. probably  gotten  a  friend  for life.
  83. ¶³Friends will be friends...
  84. ¹I  guess  this is the end of my little
  85. article  for  Propaganda,  but not the
  86. end of my friendship trading!  Because
  87. I  can`t change, I can`t quit, I can`t
  88. stop  "amigaing"!   Obsession!  Nobody
  89. living  can  ever  stop  me  &  nobody
  90. living  can  ever make me turn back...
  91. and friends will be friends!!!
